Baby bouncers and jumpers we love

A baby jumper is an activity centre that’s designed to hold your baby in an upright seated position at the same time as enabling her to jump up and down. Most of them are suitable for use from around three or four months, as long as your baby is able to sit up. Some are quickly outgrown once they are able to stand, while other multifunctional ones offer better value for money, converting to a slightly different type of toy as your baby grows.

As well as encouraging your baby to be active by using her feet and legs to bounce, jumper toys have lots of interactive play features that can help encourage your baby’s development. From elements that teach cause and effect to tasks that support your baby’s hand-eye coordination, jumper toys and activity centres create a safe space for your baby to play and learn.

Before you buy a jumper toy for your baby, think about how much storage space you’ve got. Some are bulkier than others, so go for a compact design if space is at a premium. Consider, too, whether you’re likely to pack the jumper away at the end of each day, or if you have enough space to leave it set up. If not, you’ll want a robust model that will withstand being folded away on a daily basis, as well as one that folds neatly for easy storage. Even when folded, some jumper toys are still very bulky.

This bouncer toy has a bounce counter so it’ll track your baby’s movements and reward each jump with colourful lights and sounds – including applause when your baby reaches 100 jumps!

It’s suitable for use from four months and has lots of entertaining elements to explore, including a hedgehog mirror with tambourines, a spinning bee rattle, a fox jumping jack toy and leaf teether.

This jumper toy folds flat for easy storage so it’s a good choice if you’re looking for something you can easily pop away at the end of each day – straps secure it closed for travel, too.

Disney-theme activity jumper

There are 12 toys and activities on this Minnie Mouse PeekABoo Activity Jumper. Although some reviewers say they prefer jumper toys with more features for their babies to explore, we think this is a good choice for little ones who might be overwhelmed by too much choice.

The bouncy seat rotates and there are four height adjustable positions so that you can alter it as she grows. Lights and music activate when your baby bounces, and there’s an electronic toy station with lights, sounds and volume control. Interactive features include the heart-shaped self discovery mirror with spinning beads and balls.

Grows with your child

This baby activity centre has so much to it. It starts out as as a sit, spin and stand entertainer but then converts easily to a stand-and-play activity table with plenty of interactive features to keep busy fingers occupied.

The seat spins 360 degrees for easy access to the six interactive toys and light up buttons that activate music and sound effects. There are three different height settings and it’s easy to adjust as your little one grows taller. Suitable for use from four months all the way up to five years, we think this is excellent value for money for such a versatile toy.
